Grade 5 Optional “Bring Your Own Device” Pilot Program
A huge thank you to the parents who joined us for the Parent Coffee today! We are thankful for your input into the pilot program, and for helping us target some data points for gauging its success. See the presentation slides below. More information will be sent to parents as the pilot develops, as we will hold another parent meeting at the start of the next school year.
A number of our Senior Leadership Team members, including Leda Cedo (PYP Coordinator), are in Macau this week to attend the IB Annual Conference. This event provides an opportunity for educational leaders in IB Asia Pacific to share best practices in education. The theme for 2015 is “Educating for Life”. Professional Development | Field Trips Grade 4 Korean Language Acquisition students went to Haeundae Sfunz as of a part of their unit on “Community”. They practiced using Korean to purchase goods and order food. |
Saturday Cricket
Attention all budding young cricketers! Mr Roland, Head of Grade 6 at BIFS, will be offering a cricket activity next term on Saturday morning, from 8.30-10.00am, commencing Saturday 18th April until Saturday 30th May. It will be available for all students in Grade 4-6 to participate. The sessions will be fun - a mixture of cricket skill development and fun games! All gear will be supplied - it will be tennis balls, bats and wickets supplied by the BIFS Sports Dept. The Gymnasium is booked so all the activities will be in-doors. Please wear clothes that allow you to run around and get hot and sweaty as well as runners for the gym. A requirement of participating in the activity is that parents need tostay and participate, where possible. ELEMENTARY MOVIE AND PAJAMAS NIGHT
On March the 18th the Student Council ran an Elementary Movie and Pajamas Night. Students filled up on popcorn, pizza, a drink and a sweet, before watching the exciting movie, The Secret World of Arrietty. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and 802,520 won was raised for the Aikwangwon School for Physically and Mentally Disabled. Thank you to the Student Council and various teachers who did a fantastic job to organize and run the event. Also, thank you to all the students that attended and helped raise the money. It was a fantastic evening!
